Recalling my first encounter with Harry Potter, it was around the year 2000 when my parents tried to make me interested in reading books. They bought me 2 novels of Harry Potter; 'The Sorcerer's Stone' and 'The Chamber of Secrets'. They kinda forced me to read them (which I'm glad they did). And then in the year 2001, came out the first movie which captured my heart as a kid who fell in love deeply wth the series.

Now, ten years after the first movie, came the last movie that marks the end of Harry Potter series in the silver screen: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.

The movie series have evolved along with the changes in the seat of the director. The first two movies from Chris Columbus deliver a light beginning yet promising. However, the third movie evolved greatly into a darker tone, thanks to Alfonso Cuaron for that. As Mike Newell directed the fourth, the story changed into somewhat lovelier as it epicted Harry and friends facing common teenage problems (call it love). And finally, the fifth until the end which are directed by David Yates who have directed the most attractive movies in the series (for me), combining dark tone with eye-pleasing visual effects and excellent scoring.

Fans all over the world must have been expecting the most epic story for an appropriate ending for the movie series. And yes, that's what we all get from this Deathly Hallows part 2. Combining all elements found in the previous movies, this is what we get: The best movie from the series to end the best franchise in the silver screen.

The beauty in this movie is the details. From the music-scoring, editing, cinematography, visual effects, and a perfectly written script. They are all beautiful. It's also nice to see ensemble cast of actors who have comitted themselves to the movies since the beginning. I rarely cry when I watch movies, but when I watch this one, I did. Not because it reminds me of the end of the series, it's because the story itself was touching (I did weep when I read the novel as well). I think I will never forget the epic battle scene in Hogwarts that marks the end of Harry Potter's conflict with Voldemort. Despite that, I think David Yates should have created the battle scene longer to capture every moments within the battle in Hogwarts.

Even though Harry Potter series have ended, both in books and movies, Harry Potter and his friends will always live in every heart of fans all over the world. Reading and watching Harry Potter is a groundbreaking experience and also a journey we will never forget.
