Our new hero : Pong Harjatmo!

Hell yeah! Say hello to our new hero, Mr.Pong Harjatmo!
Mr.Harjatmo is known as a senior Indonesian actor. But his act today is far from acting in front of the camera. Today he climbed the roof of DPR's (parliament) Building to spray painting on the roof. He sprayed three words : “jujur” (honest), “tegas” (firm) and “adil” (fair).
His motivation to do it is because he had enough of the DPR's members lack of devotion to do their duty for the people. Before this case happened, the parliament's members lack of attendance was in the spotlight. Maybe that's another reason what drives Mr.Harjatmo to act.
Way to go Mr.Harjatmo!!

And in this article from Jakarta Globe , he said he won't stop his grafitti campaign. Well, the parliament's members better do their job or Mr.Harjatmo will strike again.

And here is a photo of Mr.Harjatmo's spray painting I found on twitter

Well, that's the beauty of democracy. You get what you vote.

Have This Nation Lost Its Tolerance?

Attacks on Indonesian churches — such as the one pictured in the photo above (image from : The Jakarta Globe)

Lately there have been reports on assault to the Christian. It varies from 'Church burned down to ashes', 'The Christians are being forbid to do their religious activities', and so on..
From January to July, there were 28 cases of religious freedom violations by some 'intolerant groups'. Well, you probably know that these 'intolerant groups' were some radical Muslim groups. The popular one, the 'you know what', is FPI (as you all known).

Last sunday, I heard a report from twitter that FPI forbids the Christian in Ciketing Asam Bekasi, to do their religious activities. Their reason is simple, because in that area most people are Muslim (an idiotic reason to begin with, don't you think?). They even threatened the Christian, if the Christian won't obey them, they will stabbed the Christian.
Before, there were also a case that the Christian are being forbid to built a church. I found this article that reports about how the Christian were trying to build a church, when suddenly the construction was sealed off. They were also being intimidated by a group calling themselves Communication Forum for Indonesian Muslims (Forkami).

Those cases show us how we, as a nation, have forgotten the basic human rights which is to have a religion and do its religious activity without interruption. Our constitution itself contains a law about religion (which I forgot unfortunately). So basically as an Indonesian, they have violated the law and the human rights.
And now, from religious view, let's take a look at the Prophet Muhammad era. As a Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad respects other religion as well. He made a pact with the Jewish to not disturbs each religious activities. Now those 'so called' Muslim groups, have they forgot what the Prophet had taught us? I still remember a part of Surah Al-Kafirun from The Holy Al-Qur'an saying 'Lakum dinukum waliyadin' which means 'To you your religion, to me my religion'. My teacher in high-school told me that the Surah was meant for a respect between each others religion. So did those radical Muslim groups forgot what the Al-Qur'an has taught us?

I myself was raised mostly in my mother's family which mostly are Christian (my mom and some of her siblings have converted to Muslim when they were married). So basically since I was a kid, I learned how to respect each others religion. And when I grew up, I have friends who came from a different religious background, not only Christian or Catholic, but there are also Buddha, Hindu and even who proclaimed as an Atheist. I still respect them up until now.

So once again I asked, Have This Nation Lost Its Tolerance? If this Nation proclaimed itself as a democratic nation with not an Islamic Nation, we all have to do something about this sooner or later.

Inception

Another super-cool movie has arrived. This is 'Inception'. Directed by Christopher Nolan (from The Dark Knight) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio (you all know him of course). With a combination of a genius director and a genius actor, this movie is more than you can expect.

The story focused on Dominic 'Dom' Cobb (DiCaprio) as an extractor, a thief who stole ideas from the victim's dream. Dom and his partner, Arthur (Joseph Gordon Levitt), works together to extract ideas for a company. Eventually, they met Mr.Saito (Ken Watanabe) who's supposed to be their victim, but offered them a new job after they failed to get the ideas from Saito. This new job is called Inception, an opposite of Extraction, where in Inception they have to plant ideas to the victim. This job has a higher risk because they have to enter the victim's third layer dream. Refusing at first, Dom finally agrees to take this job because Saito offered him freedom to see his kids again. Then, Dom and Arthur begin their search for a team consisting of a new architect, a forger, and a chemist to work on this job.

After seeing this movie, all I can say is awesome. Nolan made a world beyond our imagination. A dream within a dream and further. The audience have to concentrate when they watch this movie so they won't lost every part of the dream Cobb and his team has gone through. Well made, Mr.Nolan!
And then the cast, DiCaprio is undoubtedly a genius actor. I love Ellen Page (from Juno) in this movie. Aside from her pretty looks, she acts on a same level as DiCaprio does. And of course Ken Watanabe, one of the best Japanese actor. I love his act since 'The Last Samurai', and he also did well in 'Inception'.
Overall, this movie was great. I can't believe Rotten Tomatoes only gave this movie a 86% rating, it should be more than 90%! But this movie still on top of Box Office though.. Well you guys should watch this movie as soon as possible. And I think I'm dying to watch it again for a second time.

The President and The Traffic Jam

Read this first : 'Inilah Surat yang Bikin Resah Istana'

Funny how our President himself is causing a traffic jam in this city full of traffic jam.
On the other hand, his patrol guards are just too arrogant to admit their own mistakes.

But then, his trustworthy speaker still denied : Julian Bantah Kemacetan Akibat Iring-iringan Kendaraan Presiden

Oh please mister, would you please just accept the fact...

Mister President said he wants to separate his private problems aside from this nation's problem. But back then, when he was first elected as President in 2004, he said that he will stay in the Presidential Palace for efficiency and to not to create another traffic jam.
Well then looking at the fact here, now he's going from his residence in Cikeas to the Palace and then back to Cikeas again.
Oh please Mr.President, hear your people's voice and stay at the Palace. This city's traffic jam is already worse enough before you added it. For the sake of the people, please stay at the Palace.

Congratulations

For my buddies who have been accepted to the university via SNMPTN, I just wanna say congratulations. Your hard work, your prayers, have been heard by God.
And for those who are not accepted yet, look straight forward, the path to success is still there. You don't have to be upset about it.

Me myself are not taking the SNMPTN test. A lot of kids deserve that chance better than I do. And that's why I chose to go to study in Australia.
Well, best of luck pals

Despicable Me

Before the World Cup final, I watched this new animation movie, Despicable Me.
I watched it because this movie is in 3D (yeah a trend in movie nowadays) and because the trailer was so interesting. So I decided to watch it.

This movie is about a villain named Gru (Steve Carell). He was a villain of the century before another villain, younger than him, named Vector (Jason Segel) stole that title from him. Vector stole the Pyramid and made him the new villain of the century.
Angered by this, Gru created a new crime scheme that will blow his rival and made himself the best villain again. He was planning to steal the moon, until his plan failed because the Bank of Evil won't give him the fund because Gru didn't have the Shrink Ray.
Unfortunately the Shrink Ray was stolen by Vector, and then Gru began his attempt to take the Shrink Ray again. But the crazy young man has set up some traps, that made Gru unable to come near his house. As his attempts keep failing, he saw three orphan girls; Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), Agnes (Elsie Fisher), were able to enter Vector's house so easily.
Then, Gru starts working on his plan to adopt those three girls and made them to assist him in taking the Shrink Ray. And his adventure with those three girls began..

Overall this movie was a good and fresh animation movie. With good humors all around the movie, it is sure to makes us laugh. And making a villain as a main character makes it different from other animation movies.
Of course like other animation movies nowadays, it is sure to gives us a moral value in the end.
Be sure to watch it before it's kicked out of the cinemas.

Another beginning for another crap

Hell yeah, I'm back for writing. It's been a long time since I write some crap.
Now, since I'm now in college and I have to do a lot of writings, I create this blog to practice my writing skills again.
Well, just take your time then.
